Livorno

Getting to know some of the most famous cities and villages in Tuscany, excited and full with emotions we go back to Livorno. Livorno gives us a new impulse to discover its hidden treasures.

This attractive quiet city is often a preferred point for many visitors, who arrive here by cruise ships, to get to know Tuscany and enjoy the Ligurian archipelagos.

The most impressive site of the city and our favorite place is Terrazza Mascagni.

The terrazza is covered with black and white balusters.

We admire from here the great views towards the sea and the port.

Terrazza Mascagni is located relatively far from the city center. The walkway follows the sea outline and leads us to the merchant district Venezia Nuova.

The sea water floats below Piazza della Repubblica.

In the past the power and the strength of Livorno’s army was represented by Fortezza Nuova. This impressive red fortification, surrounded by water, is one of the most famous sightseeing.

Livorno is a unique and interesting city, not as famous as Pisa and Florence but there are still several solid reasons for spending some hours in the port city of Livorno on the coast of Tuscany.
