Summer vacation in Costa del Sol is an incredible experience. The intriguing city of Malaga has excellent connections to the main European cities thanks to the international Airport Pablo Ruiz Picasso. AVE trains make Malaga easily accessible from most of the cities in Spain.
The mild climate makes the city a favorite tourist destination. Visitors come hear to enjoy 300 sunny days each year; warm, calm, crystal clear waters and 160 km long excellent beaches.
The region of Malaga is the smallest in Andalucia but due to its Natural Parks and unique flora and fauna is often compared as one small continent.
Malaga is the city of
museums art and the birth palace of the great Picasso, it could be also called the birthplace of Cubist art.
The delightful pedestrianized center.
Following the narrow streets we got impressed by many historical monumental buildings, including the imposing baroque Cathedral.
On the hill above the
city is the Gibralfaro Castle and Alcazaba. La Alcazaba is Malaga's most important
landmark and is the oldest fortress in Spain. Alcazaba was
used as a defense against pirates, thanks to its strategic position
with views over the city and the sea. The palace has been a resident of numerous Moorish rulers.
From Plaza Aduana we
take the street to the fortress. We climb uphill and enjoy the beautiful views and
exotic flora around.
This is a wonderful place to enjoy the fascinating surroundings.
The panoramic views over Malaga city and across the port to sea.
Directly after the
port starts the magnificent beach La Malagueta, 1.2 km long. Here we find
everything that makes our stay enjoyable- kiosks, small beach restaurants 'chiringuitos',
showers, toilets, lifeguards and much more.
