Colorful landscapes in Colmar

Our summer journey led us to Alsace. This region is a balanced mixture of German and French culture, a land of castles, vineyards and charming nature. Among the plain landscape rise The French Vosges Mountains, fascinating with ancient forests, lakes and cottages. Our tour passes through Colmar, one of the most remarkable cities of Alsace.

Hidden between the magnificent Vosges Mountains and surrounded by vineyards, Colmar attracts tourists with its unique Medieval and Renaissance architecture. Long time the city has belonged to Germany and the German architectural style is visible at every corner.

Our walk in the old city center passes through the emblematic houses Pfister, Alte Kaufhaus and City Hall.

In Colmar was also born and Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, who created the Statue of Liberty.

Today, the city is an attractive desination for many tourists who are fascinated by the unique atmosphere, representing a harmony of flowers and colorful facades.

The Lauch River, a tributary of the Ill, flows through the city.

Very impressive is the district Little Venice, where gondolas and picturesque landscapes offer a romantic atmosphere.

Alsace is a world famous producer of premium wines, which we also tried in one of the numerous restaurants. Here the famous Tarte flambée is also offered. This specialty has an old tradition and is typical for Alsace and southern Germany.

Thus the French cuisine and hospitality completed our day, full with positive emotions and unforgettable impressions.
