Luxemburg

Luxemburg is the capital of Grand Duchy of Luxemburg and due to its geography and strategic location has always had an important historical significance and political role.

Today the city is the seat of some of the most important European Organizations and is one of the leading European industrial and iconomical centers.

Very close to the city center is located the magnificent Monument de la Solidarite Nationale. This nice 50 meter high obelisk with a gold statue on the very top has an impressive history. The statue was lost during the Second World War but then rediscovered buried into the ground.

This is an important monument for all to remember, a real testament to bravery and horror of war. The monument is the starting point for our tour around the city.

Right on the top of the hill, over steep cliffs and overlooking a narrow valley is located the city center which reveals the picturesque surroundings and nice views towards the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers whose confluence is in Luxemburg City.

The old city center is a Unesco Heritage site and represents a layout complex of buildings.

The beautiful gardens are one of our favourite spots in Luxemburg. They are so amazing at day and at night.

An impressive church, one of the most beautiful parts of the city. Absolutely amazing with its unique location.

Not to be missed is the area close to the river representing old houses, small cafes and cosy restaurants. A very peaceful and relaxing area.

Another amazing landmark of the city is the Palace of the Grand Dukes with the guard posted outside. Like every place in Luxemburg, it is small and charming.

We love visiting Luxemburg and the delightful walks around the river. It is incredibly beautiful with its nature and the wonderful people we met here.
