Amsterdam Venice of the North Part 2

Dam Square in Amsterdam is the heart of the city, located just a several meters away from the central station. This is one of the busiest areas in Amsterdam, very spacious and full of pigeons. Here is the Royal palace with its lovely facade, Madame Tussaud, the church, many street entertainments and crowds.

The palace has been a city hall and a royal residence.

On the Dam square is also located the Nieuwe Kerk which is no longer used as a church but as a place for exhibition.

And just nearby is one of the oldest commercial centers in Amsterdam, Magna Plaza.

Right cross to the street and in front of the Royal Palace is the other city mall- De B’jenkorf.

Very close is located De Wallen, the Dutch name of the Red Light District. I was not really sure what to expect from this place. This is definitely one controversial but still a very safe and fascinating area.

A must for everyone visiting Amsterdam.

In the heart of De Wallen is located the Oude Kerk, the oldest church in Amsterdam.

Very close is also the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, the major Catholic Church in Amsterdam.

 Stunning views in Amsterdam.
