Valencia, City of Art and Science

Enjoying the most special Christmas with beach and many sunny hours, Valencia is our destination.

Valencia is the third biggest city in Spain and one of the main Mediterranean harbors. Situated on the gulf of Valencia and on the banks of Turia river, this dynamic city has many historical and cultural attractions.

Valencia is amazing, here we find ourselves fascinated by the richness of beauty, the perfection of art and its harmonious combination with nature.

After series of floods the Turia river was redirected by the local government and the reminded green areas are nowadays used as parks, football fields, attractions for children and as a location of The City of Art and Science, the main modern and amazing attraction in Valencia.

The walk through the park to the complex is quiet pleasant if you have enough time. However we prefer to take bus.

The complex of buildings is incredible, large and expensive. They are work of the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava. The modern inspiring architecture impressed us very much.

Due to its huge dimensions and the area it covers, the place is quiet tranquil and harmonious.

The Hemisferic- resembling a big eye- The eye of knowledge and behind is El Palau de las Arts Reina Sofia.

El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe -The magnificent building resembles the skeleton of a dinosaur. Behind is the round building of L'Àgora.

L'Umbracle- offering a picturesque landscape walk along plant species typical for Valencia.

Amazing, spectacular, brilliant from all points of view.

The modern bridge with the surrounded building, just a piece of a heaven.

The main attraction for us is the Oceanografic. The biggest aquarium in Europe. So huge variety of sea animals to see. We loved it!!!

The most amazing is walking under the tunnel of sharks. Well worth experience.

The ball with the bird world.

We also went to a dolphin show, a quiet exciting experience but the most unforgettable was to see a beluga whale.

The aquarium is huge and we spent the whole day here, with several stops in the local restaurants.

The aquarium is outstanding and exhibits all kinds of marine life and we enjoyed having the opportunity to see these animals. Definitely our visit is a delightful and unforgettable.

The buildings look even prettier at night.

Picturesque views

We really enjoy our first day in Valencia. This scientific cultural leisure will not leave us indifferent.
