Fulda is a small city in the German region of Hessen. The city is full of history and culture.
The
beautifully preserved baroque palace is a nice place to visit. There are
few good decorated historical rooms, while the other rooms are used for
administrative offices.
The garden is one of the highlights in the city, a real elegant, romantic and
refreshing experience. It was a great pleasure for me to visit this garden,
offering the calmness and the colors of nature. The park is a perfect place to
walk around and have some relaxing moments.
In late May
everything was in a full bloom and I took a long walk to explore every hidden
corner. The beautiful
park is a true oasis in the middle of the city
Picturesque garden, a very charming sitting.
The fountain is surrounded by many lovely spots.
Flowers,
ponds, ducks, sculptures, bike paths-the perfect place for a nice stroll.
The old
Orangery offers a nice and relaxing atmosphere.
I took a break in the restaurant and enjoyed the beauty and serenity around. Quite lovely experience.
Close to the
park is the cathedral of Fulda, constructed in the 18th century it
is a place for pilgrimage.
The stunning baroque church with the 65m high bell towers.
Behind is the St. Michael church which dates back to Carolingian times and the rotunda and the crypt are preserved from that time. This is definitely one of the most interesting historical buildings in the city and the oldest church in Germany. The interior is very simple but taking pictures was not allowed.
The majestic cathedral is breathtaking and the serene interior which leads you to a spiritual journey. The remains of St. Boniface are inside and many interesting statues and sculptures.
Close to St.
Michael church and the cathedral is the lovely Dahlia garden.
I stroll
further through Fulda’s lanes to the medieval city center and the old Town Hall.
Here I find plenty of boutiques, restaurants, old buildings and shops.
On the way to the city center.
