The Belogradchik rocks

Balkan mountain range Stara planina (Old Mountain) is the longest mountain in Bulgaria. The Balkan range gives the name to the Balkan Peninsula and is remarkable with its flora and fauna The relief is predominantly karst with large caves, cliffs, high waterfalls and incredible nature rock formations like the Belogradchik rocks.


There are very few places in Bulgaria which can capture so much the fascination of tourists and adventurous, like the Belogradchik rocks.





Situated in northwest Bulgaria and near the town of Belogradchik, Belogradchik Rocks are formations with different shapes, colors and high.






They are spread along a huge wild area and many of them are associated with interesting legends or resemble particular figures like Adam and Eva or mushrooms.





Fantastic rock figures spread through the whole valley are formed over millions of years, when the region has been a sea.



  


Here tourists can enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views Bulgarians.






Belogradchik Fortress which includes the rocks as a natural defense.
The town of Belogradchik, the rocks and the nearby located Magura Cave are some of the most famous destinations in northwest Bulgaria.
