Linz am Rhein, The colorful city on the Rhine and the Nature Park Siebengebirge
The Rhine between Coblenz and Bingen is without a doubt worth visiting. Travelling upstream we pass the small city of Linz am Rhein.
Nestled in the heart of Rhineland, in a hidden forest area between Coblenz and Bonn, the historical city of Linz has a lot to offer. The colorful small city lies on the bank of the Romantic Middle Rhine and invites its national and international guests to stroll around and enjoy the lovely maintained old city center.
The city was first mentioned in 874, particularly its large city walls, parts of it are preserved even till present days.
The city is a real treasure with its romantic alleys, colorful half timbered houses dating back to 15th century.
Small cafes and restaurants invite you to taste the local cosine and take a restful break after an exciting shopping day. Linz is lovely and full of fun!!!
Close to Linz and along Rhine is the Nature Park Siebengebirge. The mountain is the gate to the romantic Rhine. The region welcomes all visitors with the legendary ruins of Drachenfels (Dragon’s Rock) and Rolandsbogen (Roland’s Arch).
Drachenfels is one of the most famous attractions in the Rhineland and can be easily reached by hiking from the small city of Koenigswinter. Koenigswinter is an ideal place to start a short hiking tour.
Breathtaking view towards Bonn and deep into the Rhine valley.

Romantic Rhine- unforgettable world heritage site
Upper
Middle Rhine Valley is UNESCO world heritage site. The 19 km long distance from
Bad Salzig to St. Goar is a very varied combination of valleys, small villages,
medieval castle ruins and vineyards.
What comes
next is a real delight for the traveler. From here we can also go on an
exciting tour to explore the ruins of the old fortifications.
With such
unforgettable views one thing is certain, you can not decide where to look
first.
The region
is also famous with its vineyards. There are six wine growing areas in
Rhineland-Palatinate, each one with its own characteristics and many grape
varieties.
Here is
worth visiting Koblenz, where we can finish our vacation by enjoying a cup of coffee.
Koblenz is
one of the oldest cities in Germany and the only one situated on the confluence
of the Rhine and Mosel.
Located in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate, Koblenz
has many highlights which make the city so attractive.
The German
Corner with the statue of the emperor William I.
The
majestic hillside 850 m high Ehrenbreitstein Fortress with the spectacular
cable car over the Rhine.
The
kilometer-long riverside promenades.
Impressive
architecture and panoramic views.
The
romantic narrow streets and the beautiful views of the Rhine welcome everyone here.
The
Romantic Middle Rhine Valley has become one of the most important natural and
cultural sites and destinations in Germany. And for a good reason!
