Baden-Baden, The summer residence in Europe
The city of Baden-Baden, also
known as “The summer residence in Europe” is one of the most famous tourist spa
resorts in the world. The city has a long history dating back to the Roman
times. During the centuries it has developed as a main spa center for local and
international tourists. The city is particularly impressive with its elegant
buildings, casino, public thermal baths and the international horse race.
We visit the Baden-Baden by
direct train from Freiburg. The connections are regular and the distance takes
about one hour. Baden-Baden is also good connected to some European cities by
its airport.
The central train station is
located far away from the city center but is good connected to the main city
attractions by regular buses.
The city center is impressive by
its green areas and parks.
Unique green nature paradise.
At every step we encounter small, fine shops, elegant buildings and
parts of the city history.
The first stop of our tour is the
impressive building of the Kurhaus.
Kurhaus is the glamorous building
of Baden-Baden and its gardens are the best place for a relaxing stroll.
Situated close to the Kurhaus is the
Casino of Baden-Baden. It combines history, tradition, flair, elegance.
Particularly impressive is the sparkling atmosphere in the magnificent gambling
room.
The impressive park in front of the casino.
Taking the steps up from the main
square, we go to the Stifskirche.
The church impressed us by its ornamentation
and is one of the most remarkable buildings in the city. We take the stairs and
climb to the big terrace above the hill. From here we admire breathtaking views
over the natural park Schwarzwald.
The elegant hotels here offer stylish accommodations which makes our vacation a relaxing and enjoyable
experience.
Baden-Baden with its environment,
world-class cultural and art activities is definitely the best spa city we have
ever visited. There are very few other cities that possess such an exceptional
cultural and natural heritage.
