Sirmione, a jewel on the water

Lake Garda is the jewel of Italy. Here the combination of quietness with unique and varied landscapes brings a different flavor to our vacation.

Breathe fresh air and stroll through infinite breathtaking scenery of valleys, peaks and exciting small cities around the lake.

A classic destination is Sirmione, a small and pretty town which might be visited at every season.

Located on the Sirmo peninsula, the picturesque town is one of the well-known tourist destinations in the region.
Traces of its glorious past can be seen at every corner and the main attraction is the medieval rectangular-Scaliger Castle, dating back to the 13th century. The castle was commissioned and built by the rich Scaliger Family from Verona.

The castle has tipical defence functions with small windows and stands right infront of the main gate to the town.

The stone walls encompass a small harbor.

This stone masterpiece is so magnificent and bears the marks of the greatest architects of that time.

The castle is a port fortification, which only can be entered by two drawbridges.

It is so wonderful to stroll through the streets immerse in its romantic atmosphere.

After a pleasant day outdoors, there is nothing better that regaining ourselves in one of the many restaurants, where we enjoy the beautiful views towards the lake and taste traditional dishes while chatting with locals.

Another nice place to visit is the lovely park dedicated to Maria Callas, definitely a nice and calm green area to rest and enjoy nature.

The magical views of the mountain surrounding the lake.

The lake promenade with extremely panoramic points to admire.

Here we found ourselves immersed in beautiful and natural surroundings.

Lake Garda and the region of Veneto are a precious occasion to discover and experience the rich heritage of nature and biodiversity.
