When you visit Monaco you will experience a breathtaking
beauty in the heart of the French Riviera. The sovereign city-state is the
second smallest country in the world and the home for the rich and
famous.
The view from the hill to the harbor Port Hercules and Monte Carlo.
The oldest part of Monaco is the Rock of Monaco or Monaco-Ville. Here are located some of the top attractions like the royal palace, the Oceanographic museum and the cathedral.
The palace was built in
1215 and is such an impressive and interesting place to visit. The palace is
still used as a royal residence but great part of it is open for public, the
rooms are not that big but beautiful and well-maintained.
The palace in its spectacular hilltop location tempts
visitors to rest a while.
The hooded monk statue in front of the palace is the
memorial of the first Grimaldi, who entered the fortress disguised as a monk.
Right next to the palace is the Saint Nicolas Cathedral,
built in 19 century.
This is a beautiful small cathedral located close to the
royal palace. This is the place where princess Grace was buried. The interior is
also very impressive and elegant.
It is really nice to walk down to the coast line from here
to the Museum of the Ocean, which are connected by a peaceful park on a cliff
that overlooks the sea.

One of the most spectacular Formula 1 races takes place in
the streets of Monte Carlo, another administrative area in Monaco. The race runs
by some of the most remarkable buildings like the Casino, hotel Paris and the
harbor. It is very difficult to drive here because most of the streets are
narrow with sharp turns.
One of the most famous turns is the hairpin and uphill is
the Casino of Monte Carlo.
The Casino Square in Monaco is one of the most popular squares in the world, surrounded by luxury hotels and fancy cars, nice restaurants and boutique shops. This is a beautiful place to sit and chill over a coffee or a glass of soft drink, to see and to be seen.
